From sketches to meeting the right people, Eric realized his dream of making his design into a toy.
SapienToyStudio emerges in 2020 when the 3D concept of Chewthulhu was finalized.

Greetings, I am Eric Chew from Singapore. I doodle and imagine a lot. In my mind, situations can be transformed into different forms of monsters in different ways.
To keep myself busy, I enjoy reading or watching cartoons/anime. They inspires me to create my own imaginary monster world.

My biggest dream is to create an illustration book. Using kindness as a weapon, "Chewthulhu" a misfit monster embarks on a journey to find peace.

Chewthulhu is my depiction of being different. Being born into one of the mightiest monster race does not mean that you should be a bully that is mean and violent. Being born into one of the mightiest monster races, you should be kind and friendly and help everyone with your capability.

SapienToyStudio released over 10 color variants of Chewthulhu in 2021 and 2022 worldwide, along with his first solo exhibition at Shout Gallery Singapore.

SapienToyStudio also welcomes three brand new imaginary monster to join Chewthulhu on his journey. ELO, Kora-Kora, Bob the Burgermon.

SapienToyStudio is also working on welcoming more characters into Chewthulhu’s journey in 2024, likewise, I will be working on my very first illustration book.

Sapien derived from an old Latin word meaning “Wise”.
SapienToyStudio’s motto is “A little Sapien imagination can help change the world into a better place”.
Allow me to bring everyone on this “SAPIEN” journey.
