THE END OF ELO

Hi Everyone,

The END of ELO.

While preparing for both PopToyShow Singapore and TAIPEI Toy Festival, I realised that the amount of blanks i have left for ELO is very limited. It wasn't helping when my toy production friend told me that the casting mold for ELO is damaged. Which means, the end of ELO is coming very soon.

Instead of making the mold for ELO again, I would prefer to produce a version 1.5 or version 2 instead. While i have no idea how the cute little parasite kaiju will look like in future. Let's just say that he will still be going out to make friends. Every monsters he sees, he says "ELO".

ELO - KILONOVA is an edition of 5 only.

ELO IS ONE!! CHEWTHULHU IS BACK!!

ELO is One!

I started working on ELO back in late 2022. I always wanted a gojira or T-Rex Toy for myself but at the same time, not just as it is. When I added the contour lines to Chewhtulhu to make him unique, I was thinking how can I make ELO special and unique too. I decided to think about his story instead, when I finally decided that ELO could be a parasite trying to make friends, the melty ice cream parasite design came along and since then, the first concept of ELO is born.

I am fortunate enough to have a toy maker friend who helped me and ensure that the process of ELO goes smoothly. While he was there to help everything run smoothly, I was working on the concept of Kora-Kora and then, things went downhill when we received news about my dad suffering from Cancer. Even before he left us, he is worried about my career choice, whether i have enough to eat.

The hospital's visiting hours and the number of visitors in the ward is pretty strict, I decided to visit him every noon so that my mum and brothers can visit him during the evening visitation hours. Yet, his only concern every time i visit him is whether if this is affecting my work. He left us barely 5 months later.

Jeanne, ELO's very first color variant is blue in major. The reason why i chose blue as the first release is because my dad is always in Blue attire. I am also glad that the blue attire ELO is one of my favorite color variant so far.

I want to cast away the blue, the sorrow. I don't know if i can ever move on entirely but i would still like to celebrate ELO's 1 year anniversary with RAINBOW.

Thus, the Metallic RAINBOW.

"HENSHIN".

When i was growing up, it wasn't easy to get access to Kamen Rider or Super sentai. We didn't have official streaming services at our fingertips. I remember that one day when my mum brought my brothers and I to a video tape rental shop. We rented our very first kamen rider video tape then.

I was young, I don't understand what the show is about as I couldn't read chinese subtitles very well. I don't know which episode it was. All i knew was that when Takeshi Hongo did the transformation to Kamen Rider. It was freaking cool. "RIDER KICCCKKKKKKK"....

"HENSHIN"!!!

I still get goosebumps after hearing a good "HENSHIN" call.

3 years too late.

SapienToyStudio's Chewthulhu was born amid the pandemic.

Things weren't looking good and I was particularly worried but I am glad that there was support from you.

3 years later, relief that the pandemic is considered over and coupled with a sense of joy that I can finally participate in an overseas toy convention as a solo booth participant. It was nerve wreaking. I was filled with a mix of anticipation and butterflies in my stomach, but also incredibly exciting.

Not forgetting, SapienToyStudio's first sculpt "Chewthulhu" is retiring.

Thank you Mushroom Toys for allowing me to participate in this wonderful show. The moment the show started and the first in queue went full blast naruto-running in towards to get the toy he want, a wave of nostalgia hit as I reminisce about the toy shows during the pre-pandemic times. B.O.B - The Burger monster.

Why B.O.B?

I love the cartoon “Bob’s burger”,

B.O.B is the abbreviation for Best of Best (kind of)

The name of my family first dog, Bobby.

B.O.B the burgermonster. BOB — This is the first sketch that i did for B.O.B. I wanted to make it a totem monster but after some adjustment here and there, it became a burger.
P.S. that is not balls and dick at the bottom. It was supposed to be the french fries tail.

B.O.B is powerful, OP to be exact, but he is also timid, shy and quiet at the same time.

He hide his powers as he is afraid that no other monsters would want to play with him.

For the sake of having a sense of belonging, he hide his feelings and just follow.

A “YES” man.

BOB THE BURGERMONSTER — This is the first 3D sketch of B.O.B.
The idea is that B.O.B has a King Ghidorah inspired French fries tail.
B.O.B middle patty section can be stackable too.
From a hamburger, it can become a doublecheese burger, big mac, stacker tower!!!

He is unhappy most of the time.

B.O.B eats a lot. Eating makes him happy.

By consuming, he also gain the power of his prey.

Making him able to mimic the power of his prey.

Everything changes when B.O.B meets Chewthulhu and gang.

Chewthulhu said while sharing his food with B.O.B “ if you are unhappy here, why not follow me on my journey so we can eat together, a lot, like a lot.”

BOB THE BURGERMON — Hi everyone, This is B.O.B the burgermonster.

The most, most, MOST IMPORTANT point and idea of a stacking B.O.B is that I would like to invite artists to design a middle patty or the bad of the head.

Imagine a B.O.B tower with different patties by different artist.

I hope the idea come true one day!

Meanwhile, B.O.B the burgermonster will be releasing soon.

The soft launch will be next week together with SAPIEN TOY STUDIO first ever lucky bag.

ELO ICHIGO and CAN'T STOP WORKING

Hi my friends,

After PopToyShow Singapore, the first though I had was "I have painted non stop since August to get ready for this show, I need a break"

That break didn't come.

I was once again back in my little corner working on 3 upcoming projects.

Firstly, I will be working with a famous shop in Japan for 2 small releases. One will be in December and One in February 2024. More details will be provided soon.

All I can say is that, this is like a dream come true, for me at the very least.

Project number 2 - Elo [ ICHIGO ].

Inspired by the one of my favorite anime, Evangelion.

For the remaining of my September, I painted up the ELO Ichigo for both Taipei Toy Festival and Wonderfes BKK.

While I don't have booths for both TTF and WF, I would like to sincerely thank codecorner bkk and Joey from OJO Studio for helping me showcasing my work back at the ToyCons.

Now, it's time to make them available for the rest of the world, including my own local collectors.

Project number 3 - A Custom Show

I was invited by an overseas Toy Gallery to take part in their custom show in December. This is the first time ever I am participating and I am truly honored to be able to take part in this show. Now, time to stress about the colorway.

The work doesn't stop here.

A Christmas project with a fashion designer and a local shopping mall.

Afterwhich, I would like to officially launch KORA-KORA and also, introduce Bob the burgermon to you.

Last but not least, i really do hope i have the time to complete my illustration book.

Hi Everyone, I apologize for not being around in the month of July.

Truth to be told, my dad has been battling with cancer and he was in critical condition.

I tried my best to work as much as I can but, when he lost his battle to Cancer in July, I broke down too.

Pardon me for taking this short break, I am back and I prepared a small release for August.

ELO is an ice cream parasite who are very invasive. They were once the greatest threat to the Sapiens as they are practically indestructible. The Sapiens found a way to get rid of them by using the portal gun to transport them to another dimension.

Hi Peeps,

Thank you to everyone who joined the lottery for "Akamaru."

Like Chewthulhu Ingot last year, Akamaru is this Chinese new year's special colorway.

The edition size for Chewthulhu Akamaru is only "3" pieces, making it more limited than the regular releases. As compared with the regular 10 pieces release, this will definitely be harder to acquire in the future.

Akamaru is sold out and shipped as of yesterday.

I wish to thank everyone for your constant support.

I would like to apologize to those who missed it this time round too. The next release will be in mid-February. Please do look forward to it.

I am being informed and am aware of several Chewthulhu being resold online. One particular sales post from Mandarake caught my attention as there was something off with the ears. (I sincerely apologize to the seller and if you happen to be the new buyer, please email me and let me repair it for you.)

Chewthulhu consists of 11 parts in total. (As per the picture below) (I am so sorry, I forgot to include the tentacle beard)

I insisted on using the traditional vinyl pulling method. Due to the complex shape of Chewthulhu's head, it is difficult to pull the head as it is out of the production mold, and thus it was being manufactured into 4 part pieces instead.

The head can only be done up by gluing all 4 parts together.

On rare occasions, the glued parts might become loose due to shipping mishaps or accidentally dropping Chewthulhu from a great height but rest assured, the vinyl is ok. Like Luffy from One Piece, they are stretchy and will always be ok unless you cut them. We can simply stick them back using bsi glue.

Attached video shows you the slots for Ear A and Ear B. Apply a little Bsi Glue on the points and slot them into the respective slots. BSI glue are the best as they hold the vinyl together as fast as 25seconds and will be fully stick within 3 hours.

This is the stress test that I always do before I shipped them out.

Last but not least, in any circumstances that there is something wrong or something you are unhappy with your Chewthulhu, please do not hesitate to inform me. I will pay for both ways of shipping and repair the Chewthulhu for you. You can reach me at
